Academic Challenge is an exhilarating opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Holy Trinity School. Students compete at St. Edward & St. Ignatius High School against neighboring schools in categories that range from American History, World History, British Literature, American Literature, Science to just name a few. The excitement builds from October to December with weekly prep sessions after school on Wednesdays, as students sharpen their wits and knowledge. The competition intensifies from October to May.
Students have the unique opportunity to deepen their faith and serve the community by participating as altar servers. This role allows students to actively assist during Mass and other liturgical celebrations, fostering a sense of responsibility and reverence for the sacred traditions of the Catholic Church. Serving at the altar helps students to develop leadership skills, a sense of discipline, and an understanding of the liturgy. It also provides them with a meaningful way to contribute to their parish community, enhancing their spiritual growth and reinforcing the values taught at Holy Trinity. Through this service, students not only support their church but also build a stronger connection to their faith and to each other, embodying the school’s commitment to nurturing a compassionate and dedicated faith community.
.Art Box is an after-school haven for budding artists, guided by the talented Mrs. Joyce. Designed for a small group of 12 students, this intimate setting allows for a deeper dive into advanced art techniques. Students explore a wide range of mediums, from the intricate art of batik (painting on fabric with hot wax) to the vibrant world of Sculpey polymer clay. Pottery and glazing take center stage, addressing the popular demand for working with clay. Each week introduces a new project, promising endless creativity and the joy of making unique, hands-on art pieces.
The Band Club offers students a vibrant and engaging opportunity to explore their musical talents. Open to students in various grades, the club meets one day a week for 25 minutes. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, students learn to play a range of instruments including the clarinet, drums, flute, sax, trumpet and trombone. They learn to read music and perform as part of an ensemble. The Band Club performs at school events, community gatherings, and concerts, showcasing their hard work and dedication. This club not only cultivates musical proficiency but also emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and the joy of creative expression, enriching the overall educational experience at Holy Trinity.
Holy Trinity Parish and School proudly hosts Cub Scout Pack 462 and Boy Scout Troop 462, fostering adventure and leadership for students in grades 1-12. Cub Scouts, open to both boys and girls, enjoy monthly den and pack activities, including the thrilling Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, and exciting camping trips. Boy Scouts meet on Sunday evenings, regularly embark on camping adventures, and participate in local council activities. With eight scouts achieving the prestigious Eagle Scout rank in the last three years, Troop 462 exemplifies dedication and excellence in scouting.
The student in the Choir offers a harmonious escape for students who love to sing. Meeting regularly during lunch and recess, choir members delve into vocal techniques and practice a diverse repertoire of songs. This musical journey not only hones their singing skills but also fosters teamwork and a shared passion for music. The choir performs at various school events, including masses, special assemblies, and community gatherings, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their talents. Their performances are often highlights of the school year, spreading joy and unity through music. Holy Trinity Drama Club transforms 5th through 8th graders into stars of the stage. Every student who auditions earns a role, whether in the cast, chorus, or as part of the stage crew. The productions are grand affairs, featuring hand-sewn costumes, elaborate sets and props, intricate blocking and choreography, and dynamic musical direction. Rehearsals kick off in January, intensifying to daily sessions as the show approaches. Past spectaculars include Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, and Shrek Jr., promising another dazzling performance this year.
The Young Roots Eco Club is an inspiring initiative that fosters environmental stewardship among youth. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.

Holy Trinity’s Science Olympiad team is a powerhouse of scientific talent for 7th and 8th graders. Fielding both varsity and junior varsity teams, students immerse themselves in fifteen testing and building events aligned with their interests. Prep sessions held twice a week in October and November culminate in an exhilarating competition at St. Ignatius in late November. Under the mentorship of Mrs. Sandy Gorenc and Mrs. Sara Martin, students explore the wonders of science, engineering, and teamwork.
Scrapbooking and More is a creative sanctuary for 5th through 8th graders. Meeting once a month on Tuesdays, students channel their creativity into seasonal crafts and personalized scrapbooking pages. Holy Trinity’s Ski Club offers a winter wonderland adventure for students aged 8 to 18. Taking place on five Friday evenings in January and early February at Brandywine, the club provides a weekly snow/lift ticket, rental equipment (if needed), and five one-hour lessons with certified instructors. Whether students are seasoned skiers or beginners, Ski Club promises fun, skill development, and the thrill of gliding down snowy slopes, creating unforgettable winter memories.
Student Council at Holy Trinity is a vibrant hub of leadership and school spirit. Elected officers and representatives from each class in grades 4-8 meet regularly during lunch/recess to plan and organize events that foster school community.
